Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

PagarPulse ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by Tapas Dutta, helps construction contractors track worker attendance (hajri), advances (kharchi), wage settlement (pagar), and a site cashbook. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PagarPulse you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what the app needs to work:

• Account information: depending on how you sign in, your Google account's email address, name and Google account ID (Sign in with Google), or your mobile phone number (sign in with a one-time code); and optionally your name, business name and business logo.
• Records you enter: your workers' names and — only if you choose to add them — their phone numbers and photos; your sites/projects; daily attendance; advances; wage payments; and cashbook income/expense entries.
• Contacts (only if you choose): when you use "Import workers from contacts", the app asks for permission to read your phone's contacts and shows them on your device. Only the names and phone numbers of the contacts you select are saved, as workers. Your contact list is never uploaded or stored on our servers.
• Purchases: if you subscribe, Google Play handles the payment. We receive only the purchase token and subscription status to verify and activate Premium. We never see your card or UPI details.
• Device information: a push-notification token and basic device type/OS, used to send the reminders you enable.
• App usage and crash reports: we use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used (for example, which screens are opened) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports (device model, OS version and the technical details of the crash). These do not include the names, phone numbers or amounts you record. We do not use advertising SDKs and do not show ads.

The workers and site owners you record do not have accounts and never sign in. The data you enter about them is your business record, which you control.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To sign you in with your Google account or with a one-time code sent to your phone number.
• To store your records on your device and back them up to our servers so you can restore them on a new phone by signing in with the same Google account or phone number.
• To calculate attendance summaries, wages, balances, and cashbook totals.
• To generate PDF/slip reports and share links that you choose to send (for example, over WhatsApp).
• To send the daily/weekly reminders you turn on.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

PagarPulse is offline-first: your data is saved on your phone first and works without a connection. When you are online it is backed up to our servers (hosted on secure infrastructure) so it is not lost if your phone is lost or replaced. Your backup is tied to your account (your Google account or phone number).

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We only disclose information:

• When you share it: if you generate a PDF or a share link (e.g. a worker's wage slip or a report), anyone you send that link to can view that specific document. You control when and to whom you share.
• To service providers: infrastructure and hosting partners that run our servers on our behalf, and Google (Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics and Google Play billing), under their confidentiality and data-processing terms.
• For legal reasons: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You are always in control:

• Delete all data in the app (More → Account → Delete all data) wipes your workers, attendance, advances, payments, settlements and cashbook, while keeping your login.
• Delete account in the app (More → Account → Delete account) removes your account and associated data.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), scoped access so one contractor can never see another's data, and an optional PIN/biometric app lock. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children's Privacy

PagarPulse is intended for business use by adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your Rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us. Export options are available in More → Export data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
